GENERAL 1) Operations on the ARC Rail system are governed by NORAC Operating Rules (10th Edition). 2) Discord and a microphone are required to participate in operating sessions here.
ROLE SYSTEM 1) New players start as a "passenger". 2) Once you get on discord, get the modpack working, and show interest in operating in a professional manner, you may be promoted to "crew". 3) Players who express interest in dispatching, and who have demonstrated proficiency as "crew" may be promoted to "dispatcher". 4) Players who routinely excel at their assigned duties, with a track record of professional demeanor may be promoted to "trainmaster".
SIGNALLING & AE 1) In all cases, when you are finished with a hand-throw switch, line it for green (normal). 2) Generally, the signals are run in ABS mode. If a dispatcher is on duty, they may choose to operate the signals in CTC mode. 3) If a dispatcher is NOT on duty, coordinate mainline movements with a trainmaster, or with any nearby crews. 3) If a dispatcher is on duty, they hold authority over all signaled mainline territory; You must coordinate all mainline movements with them. 4) AE (Auto Engineer) modes are allowed (even encouraged), but C.1) still applies. YOU are responsible for what your AE does.
CABEESE 1) Any shove move that covers a distance of 3 miles or greater requires a caboose on the head end. 2) Any mainline move between 2 or more control points (eg: Whittier to Ela) requires a caboose. 3) Most cabeese are tagged for their assigned crew, and some stay coupled to their consist.
TURNING 1) You may turn road power (3 digits or more in the road number) at the end of the run, if you choose to. 2) Do not turn switchers (2 digits or less in the road number); They are aligned that way for a reason, and generally are used nose-in.
